We went for a boutique speakeasy holiday experience, and dinner service, as two separate events. It was not what we expected. It was WAY better. The seasonal experience within the restaurant hosted a drink menu that included "avant-guard" level crazy holiday Tiki-themed drinks. Additionally, the seasonal event's entertainment was amazing. At dinner the sushi was, as always, top shelf. Due to holiday staffing schedules, there was a slight delay in service, but the "extended service more than compensated." If you're into Tiki and/or sushi, this should be on your short list. Amazing and passionate staff, incredible food and drinks, and the environment to forget that you're in the valley, next to the freeway, near a surf/skate shop. If you read this far and decided not to go here, I'm going to be disappointed that you went somewhere else.

Was in town for a gymnastics competition and this place was very close to where we were staying so decided to check it out. The decor and music was fabulous as well as the food and service. Very fun!

Happy I finally stopped in. I felt like I was at Disneyland because of the cinematic-grade decor and experience. We walked in during live Tahitian dances. It was delightful. Food and drinks were tasty with large selections. I was hesitant to try because I presumed the food and drinks would be overly sweet—I was wrong. I loved the fresh and high-quality ingredients in the tiki drinks. The food was also fresh. Customer service was exceptional. Megan was very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate the detail and dedication of this professionally managed family-owned restaurant. I will definitely comeback and bring friends.

Best hidden gem in LA!!! Food is DELICIOUS. Every roll I’ve had has been amazing. I think the lobster mac n cheese may have changed my life?? Also the coconut shrimp are bomb. Service is so friendly and it’s obvious the staff is always working hard. The tiki vibes are next level....so cool.

The Bar: I like this place, definitely a spot I would come back to again and again. The music on a Friday at 5pm is reminiscent of '70s rock... Tom Petty, Bob Seger, etc. Their happy hour is Monday through Thursday 4p-6p. Lots of nice food and drink specials. I'll be back soon and post up more photos of that fun experience. The atmosphere in here is very tropical, hawaiian, you get the idea. It's like Pirates meets a Shanghai saloon, who had a Fiji lovechild by way of Tahiti. Maybe? Lol. It's a great date spot if you want to remain anonymous, and you know what I'm talking about! Sshhhh, I won't tell if you won't. The Staff: What I really love the most is the service! The waitresses and bartenders in here are definitely top-notch. Haven't had a chance to explore the sushi bar yet, but I will be back. This is a great spot if you're feeling nostalgic, and want to reminisce about the 70s and '80s Tiki bars. I would definitely recommend this place to the locals, A tourist, a rolling pack of attorneys riding their choppers, or even just a spot to come in and have a appetizer and a drink on a Tuesday.

We recently held a surprise party for my friend at Kahuna Tiki Tu and the service was outstanding! The manager called to confirm our party room booking in advance and made sure that all of our group’s needs were met. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating - esp. considering that we had 12 people with multiple checks. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the fun drinks. It was such a cool atmosphere and my friend was very impressed. They even let us bring in our own cake and some additional party decorations to make the occasion special (see photos 4 & 5.) Pricing was definitely reasonable and the venue has parking. Can’t say enough nice things about the experience and will definitely be coming back!

This place has it all! The sushi is amazing and pretty much everything we've had here as far as food is concerned has been on point! Come see Mackenzie! From the classic Mai Tai to the to chi chi, run marks, Elvis, to the pina colada, all expertly crafted and fresh. Really a will ruined experience. I highly recommend this place. I can't speak highly enough about this location

Stepping into Kahuna Tiki Tu in Valley Village is like being whisked away to a Polynesian paradise, no passport required. Nestled on Riverside Drive, this vibrant oasis delivers a full sensory escape with its lush tropical decor, cinematic ambiance, and a menu that reads like a love letter to island indulgence. We were lucky to catch their quarterly Summer Tiki Marketplace, a lively gathering of tiki vendors and enthusiasts that transforms the venue into a bustling bazaar of exotic wares and good vibes. With the next event slated for August 2025, it’s clear this tradition is becoming a seasonal staple for the community. Inside, the bar is a treasure trove of handcrafted tiki cocktails—each one a colorful, boozy work of art. The food? A feast fit for a modern-day islander. From vegan and vegetarian delights to hearty luau classics, the menu spans Pupu Appetizers, Kahuna Tiki Specials, Sushi and Sashimi, Poke Bowls, Seafood Pasta, and even a cheeky Tiki Pizza. Whether you're craving pork ribs or a crisp salad, there's something for every palate and dietary need. And if there’s one thing that keeps drawing us back again and again, it's the sushi. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, it hits the perfect balance between casual island fare and serious culinary craft. Pair it with one of their unforgettable tiki cocktails, and you’ve got a duo that never disappoints. What truly sets Kahuna Tiki Tu apart, though, is the warm, welcoming, and absolutely delightful staff. Each visit feels like a homecoming, and the energy they bring is nothing short of infectious. We want to give special recognition to Megan and Arlette, two phenomenal waitresses whose friendly service, attention to detail, and joyful spirit turn an evening out into something truly memorable. Their genuine aloha attitude is a big part of what makes us look forward to every return visit. Accessibility is thoughtfully considered, with wheelchair-friendly accommodations that make everyone feel welcome. Add in the live entertainment—think jazz nights, burlesque shows, and ukulele performances, and you’ve got a destination that’s more than just dinner; it’s an experience. The shows do not occur every night, so I would recommend calling them to see what is happening, and when. In short, Kahuna Tiki Tu isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a tropical state of mind, delivered with heart, humor, and the kind of hospitality that keeps you coming back.
